Alayna's 9 Month Dr. Apt. & Finger Foods Dinner

So yesterday we had Alayna's 9 month dr's apt. We had it this week b/c for some reason we missed last week's :). She is officially 16.0 lbs which is only in the 10-25% for weight. And she is 27 1/2 inches long which is in the 50% for height. So, pretty much she's tall and skinny...definitely not a Lamport trait :). She got just one shot yesterday and overall did great! She now has the okay to start eating meats. The dr. said we could give her the meat we eat as long as we puree it. I do not want to puree meat! There's something weird about that. So...I think we'll be buying the jarred baby meat food.

Last night at dinner we started giving Alayna more finger foods. She's already mastered the puffs, but we decided to start giving her more. We gave her banana and like normal, she just doesn't like it! She loved the grapes though! She's now mastering cheerios and we gave her some plain graham crackers too. This is a new thing for all of us. Like normal, as each stage begins I'm not totally sure what I'm doing, but we figure it out and it becomes not such a big deal. During dinner she started clapping after she ate too! This is another fun new thing she is doing now. So we played pat a cake at dinner too. It was a long dinner :).

Our extravert!

This weekend is the Edge (our high school ministry) camping trip. It's at our Barrington campus so Alayna and I went on Saturday to hang out with everyone. It was a lot of fun! Alayna loved it! We see more and more how she loves to be around people! She lights up! The students played with her great and she loved them. During the afternoon as the students played a ton of games, Dan carried her around in the Baby Bjorn. She loved cheering them on and I think she thought she was a part of the games :). She enjoyed herself so much, she didn't take an afternoon nap until 5 pm, and that was only a little one. It was a great day of doing ministry as a family. I'm blessed to have a husband that is so excited about that! What a great day continuing to see how God has made our little girl. She is a blessing!

All about the kid :)

Well I decided I wanted to start blogging. Alayna our daughter is now 9 months old and she's doing so many new things. I wanted to write them down and share them with family and friends. She is crawling, pulling up on things, and moving non-stop! In the past couple days she's started standing all on her own. She just stands there. Sometimes she smiles like she knows what she's doing and sometimes she doesn't even know. It's crazy to see because she's so little. She's not that far off the ground:). It's amazing to me. We've come a far ways in just 9 months. RB
